While the restaurant is still working through some initial hiccups, the quality of the food more than made up for it. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and friendliness by the servers. They were socially adept and ensured we felt welcome throughout our visit. Smeep was very friendly and nice , It's clear they are committed to providing great customer service, even as they navigate the challenges of a new establishment. Now, let's talk about the food – it was simply outstanding. Each dish was bursting with authentic flavors, and you could tell the chefs put a lot of care into their preparation. Whether you're a fan of traditional Indian cuisine or looking to try something new, Indraprastha's menu offers a variety of options that are sure to satisfy your palate. Despite the minor teething problems, which are to be expected with any new restaurant, Indraprastha shows great promise. I'm confident that with time, these issues will be ironed out, making it an even better dining destination. For now, the excellent food and friendly service make it well worth a visit. I highly recommend giving Indraprastha a try – you won't be disappointed!

Indraprastha’s new decor is a major change with the new colour scheme , comfortable chairs , tables, booths and luxurious bar seating arrangement area. Service was a bit slow and disorganized initially (expected for a new , recently opened establishment) but the staff were very friendly and nice. Had their Butter Chicken which was excellent. Would go again. Only two negatives were (1) that for a “finer dining experience” restaurant , the background music was way too loud and (2) the outside patio needs a lot of upgrading ( seating layout, some proper landscaping, flowers , etc.) to bring it up to the former Southside standards which always made the restaurant experience there so enjoyable in the summer.

We had been to Southside regularly so interesting to see all the renovations. Looks great. We did find the music too loud but they turned it down when we asked.

Our server/bartender - Smeep - was very attentive and a great bartender. Her mixed drinks were tops. The food was probably the best, if not the best, Indian food I have ever had. The Biryani, gunpowder chicken, masala shrimp, lamb Rogan Josh, naans and more, was extremely tasty and just the right spice. Excellent service and food. Will definitely let others know and will definitely be back. Thanks for coming to Markham!!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.This restaurant model is a franchise and we came to learn that each location modifies their menu to suit the demographic of their location. My friend had gone to their downtown location and was excited to see they were opening a location in Markham. We ordered a bunch of dishes to try and the flavours and the preparation of the dishes were different from his experience with the downtown location. I would say the food and service were lovely but treat each location as a separate restaurant and don’t expect the experience to be the same. This location is new and the servers are junior. As we had paid but still finishing our beers, the server kept coming by to ask if we were waiting on anything or if we needed help. We felt like we were being rushed to leave the table even though I’m sure that was not her intention. Wishing the owner luck and hope they continue to do well at this location as the restaurant filled up around 7pm.
